ACN’s allegaiton of arrest diversionary – Edo PDP

Dan Orbih

THE Edo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Dan Orbih, weekend, described the allegation by the state Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, that the PDP had perfected plans to arrest ACN leaders ahead the April elections, as diversionary tactics by the ACN.
Orbih said, “it is clear now to every person in Edo State that the present leadership of the PDP in Edo State and members of our party are disciplined people. We believe that the society should be governed by laws, which must be obeyed by all, whether you are in government or not.”
Orbih who spoke to newsmen in Benin City, said “there had been reported incidents of attacks on innocent citizens and people who were attacked, took the pains of reporting at the various police stations instead of taking laws into their hands. And when the culprits were arrested, it turned out that all of them were (alleged) ACN thugs. There had been reported cases of people being killed in broad day light.
“We must learn to obey the laws of the land. That is why I am condemning the recent call by the Governor of the state (Edo), at the ACN rally at Okada, that people should kill election riggers.
The statement is reckless and unbecoming of a governor. There are laws governing the electoral process and I believe that we should allow these laws to prevail. The call by the governor that people should take laws into their hands and kill is a call for anarchy and unbecoming of a governor,” he added.
