PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — Former U.S. President Bill Clinton is making a one-day visit to Haiti to discuss the future of reconstruction efforts with two presidential candidates who will compete in a March 20 runoff.

Clinton met late Tuesday morning with carnival singer Michel "Sweet Micky" Martelly during a closed-door meeting. Clinton was then scheduled to meet with the other candidate, former first lady Mirlande Manigat.

Clinton did not speak to the news media but is scheduled to give a news conference with Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive later in the day.

Clinton is a special U.N. envoy to Haiti and co-chairs the Interim Haiti Reconstruction Commission with Bellerive.
