M5.3 quake jolts Fukushima Pref



A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.3 jolted Fukushima Prefecture early Friday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. No tsunami warning was issued. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage from the 2:04 a.m. quake, which registered lower 5 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 7 in Iwaki in the prefecture.
The quake, which was focused in the eastern part of the prefecture at a depth of some 10 kilometers, measured 4 and 3 in other parts of the prefecture, according to the agency
