The federal-government reorganization announced in the State of the Union will be headed by Jeffrey Zients, the Office of Management and Budget's deputy director for management, and the nation's first federal chief performance officer.
Zients is a former CEO and chairman of The Advisory Board Company and chairman of the Corporate Executive Board, which provide best-practices advice.
Others will head specific areas.
On the export agenda, Zients may pull in Deputy Secretary of State Tom Nides and Michael Froman, deputy national security adviser for international economic affairs.
